Free Stream Overlays & Webcam Borders
A professional stream relies on clean, consistent branding. Our Stream Overlay Generator lets you create custom assets for your Twitch or YouTube stream without needing Photoshop or expensive designers.
Essential Overlay Types
Every streamer needs a few key graphics:
- Webcam Border: This frames your camera, separating you from the gameplay. It makes you "pop" and look more professional.
- Starting Soon Screen: Play this for 5-10 minutes before you go live. It gives viewers time to join while the notifications go out.
- Be Right Back (BRB): Use this when you need a bathroom break or a snack. Never leave your viewers staring at an empty chair!
- Stream Ending: A graceful way to say goodbye and raid another channel.
Why Use a Generator?
Static images (JPGs/PNGs) use significantly less CPU than animated video overlays (WebM). If your PC struggles with streaming, switching to clean, static overlays generated here can save precious resources for your game.
How to Adding Overlays to OBS Studio
- Create & Download: Design your overlay above and click "Download Overlay". It will save as a transparent PNG.
- Add Source: In OBS, go to the Sources dock and click the + icon.
- Select Image: Choose "Image" from the list. Name it (e.g., "Webcam Border").
- Browse File: Find the PNG you just downloaded.
- Position: Drag and resize the image in the preview window to fit your layout. Make sure it is above your webcam source in the list.
Design Tips for Clean Overlays
- Keep it Simple: Don't clutter the screen. Viewer attention should be on the game and you.
- Contrast is Key: Use a border color that stands out against your game. Neon colors work well against dark games.
- Match Your Vibe: Horror game? Use red/black. Cozy stream? Use pastels. Consistency builds your brand.
