A camera mask is an image that hides parts of your webcam. It's how streamers get:
- Rounded corner webcams
- Circular facecams
- Custom shapes (hexagon, star, etc.)
- Decorative borders and frames
Method 1: Image Mask (Recommended)
- Create or download a mask image (black = visible, white = hidden)
- In OBS, right-click your webcam source
- Go to Filters → + → Image Mask/Blend
- Select your mask image
- Type: Alpha Mask (Alpha Channel)
💡 Mask Image Rules
Black areas stay visible, white areas become transparent. Use PNG format with transparency for best results.
Method 2: Overlay Frame
- Create a PNG frame with transparent center
- Add as Image source in OBS
- Position it over your webcam
This method adds decoration but doesn't crop the webcam itself.
Common Webcam Shapes
- Rounded Rectangle - Most popular, subtle and clean
- Circle - Classic look, great for corner placement
- Hexagon - Unique, tech/gaming aesthetic
- Pill Shape - Modern, YouTube-style
